This week, the COBRAIN Scientific and Educational Center for Basic Brain Research of YSMU had the pleasure of hosting four members of the external advisory board of the Horizon 2020 “COBRAIN” program and the international advisory body of the COBRAIN center.

This week, the COBRAIN Scientific and Educational Center for Basic Brain Research of YSMU had the pleasure of hosting four members of the external advisory board of the Horizon 2020 “COBRAIN” program and the international advisory body of the COBRAIN center. This body provides independent expert opinion and professional support to groups engaged in brain research and educational programs.

The distinguished guests included Zaven Khachaturyan, President of the “Prevention of Alzheimer’s disease 2020” organization and editor-in-chief of the scientific journal “Alzheimer and Dementia,” Alan Kaluef, Director of the ZENEREI research center and professor of neuroscience, Nicole Deglon, Head of the Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Neurotherapy at the University of Lausanne, and Jasek Jaworski, Head of the International Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology for Science and expert in molecular and cellular neurobiology. They were accompanied by the head of the COBRAIN project, Vice-Rector for Science at YSMU, Professor Konstantin Yenkoyan.

During the visit, the group held think-tank style meetings to discuss the development of the center’s research strategy. Separate meetings were also arranged with YSMU Rector Professor Armen Muradyan and the Chairman of the RA Science Committee, Sargis Hayotsyan. Both expressed their gratitude for the willingness of renowned scientists to support COBRAIN and their hope for continued collaboration to ensure the center’s success.
